Back from Down Under

I just got back from Australia yesterday, and am still trying to get my sleeping schedule back to normal. I think I came back home just when I was finally getting adjusted to the time difference. I've heard it takes about one day to adjust per one hour of time difference, so I should be back adjusted in about a week. Unfortunately, I'm leaving for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean on Friday, which will further screw me up time-wise. Oh, well. I'm not complaining, just amazed at the travels I've been able to have recently!

I'm too tired to write about many of the details of my trip (which was for business), but one of the highlights was going to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, and being able to hold a koala. That was a pretty amazing experience, and certainly one they don't let you have at the San Diego Zoo! Except for the fact the koala got a little nervous and tried to claw my cheek off, and then proceeded to, how can I put this delicately?, unload a bit in my hands while the picture was being taken. Maybe the tie made him nervous, I don't know. But, it was certainly a unique experience, and one I'll remember for the rest of my life. After all, who hasn't ever really wondered what a koala feels like? I will say they're fairly heavy (I think my guy was about 10 or 11 pounds) and had very thick fur, which is kind of surprising, in that they're found in such a warm part of the world.

I'll also post a few other pictures from the sanctuary and my trip. Pretty fun time, and worth the 12+ hour-long flights I had to endure to get there and back!!

The Disneyland Report...

We returned yesterday from our week-long trip to Southern California. It was a little cooler than we had hoped, but still warmer than the snowy home we left! We spent the first two days at Disneyland, spent our third day at Sea World in San Diego, took the fourth day off and did a character breakfast with the kids, did the fifth day at the San Diego Zoo, and our last day at Disneyland, again. The kids (and us) had a great time, as the following pictures may demonstrate:
